Campagnolo Restaurants Introduces Gluten-Free Pasta PDF Print E-mail

VANCOUVERCampagnolo Restaurants is appealing to allergy concerns with the introduction of its gluten-free cannelloni that was developed after months of testing.

"It was imperative that we didn't just make a gluten-free pasta; rather, we make a pasta that we as chefs would want to eat that just so happens to be gluten-free," explained Ted Anderson, the company’s executive chef.

CALGARY — A Calgary restaurant is feeling the heat after a staff member allegedly asked a homeless man to leave its Kensington-based Original Joe’s location.

The homeless man, known as Shawn, was eating a meal a good Samaritan purchased for him when a bartender reportedly told him to leave.

Summerhill Pyramid Winery To Make Preservative-Free Wine PDF Print E-mail

KELOWNA, B.C. — Summerhill Pyramid Winery is using a new process that will make it easier for people with sensitivities to sulphite — a commonly used preservative — to enjoy wine.

Eric von Krosigk, head winemaker, of the family owned, organic and biodynamic winery has purchased a nitrogen generator for the facility, which eliminates sulphur dioxide, known to cause allergic reactions such as headaches or red cheeks.
