CALGARY — Calgary coffee shops have raised prices to keep up with dwindling supply, CBC News reports. Canterbury Coffee sales manager Gord Chester told the CBC the price of coffee has doubled since last year. "And, that's just not good for coffee-bar owners, and it's not good for us to be telling people, 'We got to raise prices,'" Chester told the news organization. "Unfortunately there's such a supply drought right now of high-grade arabicas, this is the byproduct of it. As supply shrinks or as there's problems in the world like they had in Brazil this year ... typically, the price goes up." The price hike is due to lowered supply caused by poor weather in coffee-producing South American countries. For more on this story, click here.
