CALGARY, Alta. — The Calgary-based Prairie Mill Bread Company was recently awarded in the foodservice category of the Alberta Food for Health Awards, a Premier’s Award that “recognizes food processors, producers and researchers for their work in creating healthy food for Albertans.”

"We're elated. It's nice to be recognized," John Juurlink, the co-owner of the pioneer-style bread company, was quoted as saying by the Calgary Herald. "Even though we're a small business, it shows we can compete with the big guys."

The design of the new space, from the lauded Senses restaurant brand, will focus on natural tones inspired by the Canadian Rockies. “I have used finishes and millwork that will complement the mountains in full view for our guests,” Paul Waddell, the interior designer, explains. “Essentially the goal was to create a natural, understated setting that allows chef Leung's strong flavours and bold cuisine to take centre stage.”

Pacini Opens Calgary Resto; First Outside Quebec PDF Print E-mail

CALGARY — A Quebec-based Italian restaurant chain, Pacini, has opened its first eatery outside of Canada’s French-speaking province, in Calgary.

The 220-seat restaurant, which is the 27th Pacini location in the chain, is a $3.8-million project next to the Acclaim Hotel near the Calgary International Airport. It will serve authentic Italian cuisine.
