TORONTO — Rick Holley, professor of food safety and food microbiology at the University of Manitoba, is not convinced that the investigation that followed the deadly listeriosis outbreak, linked to a Maple Leaf plant in 2008, has instituted enough changes to make Canada’s food safe. “If politicians want to stand up and say we have the safest food supply in the world, they’ve got to come clean and do something to make it that way, because right now it’s certainly not,” Holley told Carly Weeks of the Globe.
