MONTREAL — Maclean’s list of “50 Best Restaurants in Canada” is being criticized by foodies and commentators who believe it’s missing some of the country’s top spots, according to Montreal’s Gazette newspaper. “For a solid week, Maclean’s has been taking a beating for its first list of 50 best restaurants in Canada,” reads the opening line of the Gazette article. Au Pied de Cochon, Joe Beef, Atelier Restaurant, Sooke Harbour House, Rouge and Vij’s were cited as some of the country’s top restaurants left off the list.
