To launch the new store, located at the Ario Kameari Mall in Tokyo, the company partnered with master franchisee Takafumi Kawasaki, a veteran in the Japanese-based franchise sector. Over the next two years, the duo plans to open 10 units in Japan and has signed agreements with other master franchise candidates to open stores in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and China within the next two years. “Great flavour, value and products know no borders,” said Bill Phelps, CEO and co-founder of Wetzel's Pretzels. PASADENA, Calif. — Wetzel's Pretzels has opened its first Asian location with a bang, becoming the company’s highest-volume store in the world.
