NEW YORK CITY — Chef Normand Laprise, of Montreal’s Toqué restaurant, took home honours for his cookbook, Toqué Creators of a New Quebec Gastronomy (Les Éditions du Passage) at the 2013 James Beard Foundation Book Awards, held in New York City Friday.

Accepting the award in the category, Cooking from a Professional Point of View, the grand chef Relais & Châteaux winner, thanked associate Christine Lamarche, chef Charles-Antoine Crête, his team at Toqué and the publisher, for their contributions.

CHICAGO — Top Chef Masters winner Rick Bayless, Iron Chef’s Cat Cora and the Food Network’s Chopped judges, Maneet Chauhan, Marcus Samuelsson, Marc Murphy and Aarón Sánchez are set to appear at the World Culinary Showcase at the upcoming NRA Show.

SEATTLLE — Howard Shultz, president and CEO, Starbucks, has announced a number of senior leadership changes at the chain.

“These changes will further advance Starbucks’ upward trajectory and accelerate the company’s global growth plans by taking full advantage of the diverse and complementary experience, tenure and skill sets of its senior leaders,” reads a statement from Starbucks.

ATLANTA — Paul Brown is pegged to become the new CEO at Arby's Restaurant Group, effective May 13.

“Paul is the ideal leader to further Arby's strategic vision and build upon our strong sales performance and momentum. He will strengthen the collaborative relationship between Arby's franchisees, employees, suppliers and stakeholders,” said Jon Luther, chairman of the Arby's Board of Directors.
