McDonald’s Canada Offers Nutrition App for iPhone PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 29 August 2011 11:49

mcdonalds-canada-unvelis-nutrition-appTORONTO — Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese and now a clever nutrition calculator for the Apple iPhone. McDonald's Canada has developed a one-of-a-kind nutrition calculating application available free from iTunes.

“We're thrilled to expand the accessibility of nutrition information to a new platform, one that makes it easier than ever for people to check nutrient values and customize their order before they make a purchase” said Richard Ellis, senior vice-president, Communications and Public Affairs, McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited.

Allowing customers to drag and drop their menu choices to a virtual tray, the app allows diners to immediately see detailed nutrition information for their meal. The bilingual calculator handles menu modifiers as well. It has the ability to remove ingredients such as cheese, sauces or other toppings providing customers with the ability to customize their order. The app works both online and offline and is reportedly the first of its kind in the Canadian QSR industry.

McDonald's Canada also has a free Restaurant Finder App available for download in the iTunes App Store. Among its many features, it allows users to track the nearest McDonald's restaurant offering free Wi-Fi service powered by Bell.
