The goal is implement a national education campaign, largely focused on the web and targeted to higher risk Canadians.

"We are excited about collaborating with Maple Leaf Foods and bringing our expertise in the area of public health education to this important project," said Debra Lynkowski, CEO, CPHA. "We will work closely with our extensive membership of public-health practitioners who provide services to higher risk populations to get the message out about food safety."

This comes almost two years after Listeria found in Maple Leaf product led to 23 Canadian deaths and is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to make inroads in the area of food safety.
