MISSISSAUGA, Ont.  — Known in the cheese industry simply as “The Royal,” this unique indoor agricultural fair and equestrian show celebrated its 90th year with their annual meeting, held from November 2-11 in Toronto, Canada. Cheeses from Celebrity International and Lenberg Farms Classic Reserve took home a number of awards at the prestigious show. Featured was an impressive lineup of products by Finica Food Specialties and Atalanta Corporation, from the farms of Mariposa Dairy in Lindsay, Ontario.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Ten exhibitors received Editors’ Choice Awards during the Opening Ceremonies of the 97th annual International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS) and 3rd annual Boutique Design New York (BDNY), Sunday, November 11, 2012, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.  The Awards recognize best new products within the categories of design, equipment & supplies, guest amenities, tabletop, and technology, as well as an eco-friendly equivalent to each of these categories.  From the 10 winners, the Kenneth F. Hine “Best of Show” Award also was selected.

CHICAGO — The ALI Group, a leading global designer, manufacturer, marketer and servicer of a broad line of commercial and institutional foodservice equipment, announced it had reached a definitive agreement to acquire Scotsman Industries, the largest commercial ice machine company in the world, from an affiliate of Warburg Pincus. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
