TORONTO — After 35 years in business, Pier 4 Storehouse Restaurant on Toronto’s waterfront will close Sept. 30.
Owner Walter Oster opened the restaurant in 1977, on a waterfront space that was previously used for storing cargo brought in by ships.
The 400-seat casual-dining restaurant and bar serves fresh fish, seafood, meat and poultry and houses the largest private historical nautical artifact collection in Ontario, according to Oster.
It will be tough to say goodbye, especially to the staff. “These people are family,” Oster said. “We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears in here.”
A public auction will be held Oct. 10 to sell the contents of the restaurant.
