TORONTO — Cactus Club Cafe, a popular West Coast casual chain of eateries in British Columbia and Alberta, is set to take the Big Smoke by storm next year with the opening of its first Toronto outpost.

“We are excited to be expanding our collection to the Ontario market,” said Richard Jaffray, president and founder of Cactus Restaurants. “The restaurant industry in Ontario, and, particularly in Toronto, is a discerning one, and we look forward to introducing them to our concept of upscale yet informal dining.”

The menu, designed by Rob Feenie, executive chef of Cactus Restaurants Ltd., and winner of Iron Chef America, will feature fresh, local ingredients. The restaurant itself will showcase original art by Andy Warhol and Jean Michel-Basquiat.

No opening date has been announced, but the new Cactus Club Cafe is expected to open at 100 King Street West.
