TORONTO — As the mercury continues to rise in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, the city’s Now magazine has released its list of top five barbecue joints in the city, with uptown’s Stockyards Smokehouse & Larder taking top billing.

“The fantastically textured pig on his pulled-pork sandwich ($8) isn’t so much shredded as hacked by a blindfolded samurai wielding a chainsaw,” writes Now reporter, Steven Davey. “The spicing on the whole smoked chicken ($14) now verges on jerk and is the tastier for it.”

For the complete list that includes Buster Rhino’s Southern BBQ in Whitby and Barque Smokehouse in Toronto, visit nowtoronto.com.
