TORONTO — Customers are fuelling up at the new Leslieville Pumps General Store and Kitchen, a joint southern-style barbecue smokehouse and fuel station in Toronto. Owned by brothers Greg and Judson Flom, the concept combines a general store, sandwich shop and gas station. The interior gives off a kitschy feel with cottage-country wood, red Muskoka chairs and old photographs and newspaper clippings. The sandwich-based menu includes Southern Style Beef Brisket made with homemade barbecue sauce, crispy sweet onions and grainy mustard ($7.74) as well as breakfast sandwiches, including the Healthy Morning sandwich with egg whites, farmer’s sprouts, grilled peppers and avocado sauce on rustic multigrain bread ($4.42). The pumps are open 24-7 at the operation that offers catering and take-out options. Keep Reading Fire Destroys Ottawa Banquet Hall Showcasing Atlantic Canada Wines |
