TORONTO — Ontario restaurant owners could be faced with low alcohol stock with news that the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) workers could be walking off the job Friday morning.
The strike isn’t just a problem for retail customers as full case orders by agents are already being affected due to an increase in demand at the LCBO-controlled warehouses.

MONTREAL — Two Quebec-based hotdog vendors, La Belle Province and Le Petit Québec franchises, are facing off against Revenue Quebec due to unpaid taxes dating back to 2007, reports Montreal’s Gazette newspaper.
According to the paper, Revenue Quebec is after 11 individuals and the two companies claiming unpaid sales and income taxes of more than $5 million between 2007 and 2011.

TORONTO — Steve Gonzalez, Origin’s former chef de cuisine, is planning to open a restaurant in the trendy King West neighbourhood in the space formerly occupied by Cheval nightclub.
“I feel great, I’m so excited,” said Gonzales as quoted by Toronto’s Grid. “I don’t have to pick up my whole production. It’ll be a lot of work, but I’m glad to have a restaurant to cook from again.”
