TRURO, N.S. — Scotsburn Dairy is preparing to get a big scoop of business when the Ontario-based Baskin-Robbins plant closes this fall.
“Nova Scotia is very pleased that Baskin-Robbins is expanding its relationship with Scotsburn, which is a tremendous endorsement of the high-quality products produced by the company,” said Percy Paris, Nova Scotia’s economic and rural development minister.
The Scotsburn, N.S.-based business inked a deal with Baskin-Robbins to become its exclusive supplier of ice cream to 113 franchise stores across Canada. Execs told The Chronicle Herald the Peterborough, Ont.-based plant, has not been meeting demand, and the decision to shut down was in line with a strategy to move to third-party manufacturers.
