The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA) shared the achievement with Premier Shawn Graham yesterday, Aug. 18, presenting the premier with a personalized chef jacket.
Bill Allen, CRFA director, and Luc Erjavec, vice-president, Atlantic, also spoke to Graham about the foodservice industry’s positive impact on the province’s economy. According to a CRFA press release, the restaurant industry in N.B. employs more than 24,000 people, provides one in five jobs for young people under the age of 25, promotes local cuisine and agriculture, and generates jobs and investments throughout communities.
“The restaurant industry plays a key role in growing employment, tourism and vibrant communities,” says Erjavec. “We’re very pleased to have the opportunity to share this success with Premier Graham, and to encourage him to foster a stable business environment so our members can continue to grow and invest in New Brunswick.”
