“The Government of Canada is committed to helping companies build and strengthen their export capacity,” said Ashfield. “The Americas Food & Beverage Show provides exceptional opportunities to form new partnerships and secure business deals. By investing in this trade mission, our government is helping Atlantic Canadian companies increase their potential for export sales and expand their export markets. This in turn, enhances the entire economic performance of our region.”
The mission is being organized by the Atlantic Food & Beverage Processors Association Inc. and includes pre-arranged one-on-one meetings between participating companies and prospective customers for their products. Companies such as McCain Foods Limited, Cavendish Farms, True North Salmon and the Canadian Iceberg Vodka Corporation are among the group. More than 5,000 buyers from 87 countries and 300 exhibitors from 18 countries are expected to take part in the 2009 show. Last year’s event generated $108.6 million in actual and projected sales.
