CTC Holds Annual Public Meeting PDF Print E-mail

fyi_franchise7SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) will be holding its Annual Public Meeting Nov. 4 at the Hilton Saint John in New Brunswick.

The CTC board of directors is inviting guests to hear Michele McKenzie — president and CEO of the CTC — and her team as they present an update on their marketing strategy. On the agenda: a report on the CTC’s new marketing program addressing the challenges ahead and leveraging the unprecedented worldwide attention of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

N.B. Expo Celebrates the Grape PDF Print E-mail

fyi_beverage24MONCTON, N.B. – The 19th annual World Wine and Food Expo, which began Monday November 2, runs until Saturday November 7, at Moncton’s Coliseum Complex.

The event — billed Atlantic Canada’s largest wine tasting — features 370 wines from around the world that are not yet readily available in the province. In addition to the tastings, seminars and dinners hosted by professional sommeliers, there is gourmet food available to highlight the guest’s wine experience. Vino of various prices is being sold through N.B. Liquor as samples or whole bottles.

Fredericton Chefs Host 'Red Tie Affair' PDF Print E-mail

FREDERICTON – Chefs from some of New Brunswick’s top restaurants are teaming up with AIDS New Brunswick to host a fundraiser Oct. 31.

The 'Red Tie Affair' is in its third year and aims to bring together community members for a good cause through innovative culinary experiences. "The event originally coincided with International Chef's Day, so it was partially a celebration of that and it was a chance for the chefs to get creative and try new things, fancy dishes," Nick Scott, AIDS New Brunswick executive director, was quoted as saying in Fredericton’s Daily Gleaner newspaper.

IRG Announces Closing of Merger Transaction PDF Print E-mail

fyi_franchise9MONCTON, N.B. - The Imvescor Restaurant Group (IRG) is the new name for the PDM Royalties Income Fund with privately-held Imvescor Inc. — formerly known as Pizza Delight Corporation Ltd. and founded in 1969 by Bernard Imbeault. The combination transaction between PDM Royalties Income Fund, 7209835 Canada Inc., Imvescor Inc., Imvescor Restaurants Inc. and Imvescor's two shareholders, General Financial Corporation Ltd. and Delighted Guests Ltd., was signed Oct. 10.

Imvescor Restaurant Group shares opened for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the stock symbol IRG on Oct. 16. The new company has appointed Bernard Imbeault, founder of Imvescor, as founding chair emeritus of the board. Ron Magruder, formerly CEO of Imvescor, has been appointed IRG’s CEO and William R.
