HALIFAX — Halifax's Westin Nova Scotian hotel, a New Castle Hotels and Resorts property, has named a cocktail lounge after a longtime employee who’s been serving drinks at the establishment for nearly 50 years.

NB Liquor Report Recommends More Private Involvement |

FREDERICTON — NB Liquor should consider more private influence, according to recommendations from a recent report issued by Daniel Allain, the president and CEO of NB Liquor.
"It is not our focus or our intent to privatize NB Liquor at this time,” Allain said.

P.E.I. Fishermen Demand Higher Halibut Quotas |

P.E.I. — Maritime fishermen are asking for larger halibut quotas, arguing fishermen from other provinces have an unfair advantage.
Groups are concerned about the disproportionate allowances between provinces, as P.E.I. fishermen have 1.46 per cent of the quota, while Quebec’s fishermen have 57.7 per cent of the quota of halibut. In addition to questioning the formula to decide quota, groups are asking they receive a more equal share on future quotas.

MONTREAL — New Brunswick’s third St-Hubert franchise restaurant has opened today, Feb. 14, in Saint John.
"We are happy to offer the people of Saint John this brand new St-Hubert Express and we are looking forward to helping them discover, and, perhaps in some cases, rediscover the famous roasted chicken and every other food products that have given St-Hubert its renowned reputation for over 60 years," said the new franchisees, Collette and Don Doucette.
