Partnership
As of January 2011, Toronto-based Kostuch Media and Chicago-based Technomic Inc., have entered into a partnership agreement and marketing alliance. The two companies will partner on the Top 100 Report, currently produced annually by Foodservice and Hospitality in its July issue, as well as a Top 200 Report, currently produced and marketed by Technomic Inc.
In addition to the Top 100 and Top 200 Reports, Technomic will also contribute to the Top 100 Awards Breakfast, held this year on June 24, at the Westin Prince in Toronto. Technomic will headline a presentation focusing on indepth analysis from the report, highlighting such areas as segment reports (QSR, Fine Dining, Contract Caterers, et cetera); menu trends analysis and other topics.
The two companies will also partner on developing a new one-day joint conference to take place in September 2011, highlighting industry trends with a particular focus on the new foodservice consumer.
As part of this marketing alliance, Kostuch Media will have the right to market Technomic’s full stable of Canadian products, including, but not limited to, the online databases, Canadian Foodservice Digest, and The Canadian Healthy Eating Consumer Trend Report.

Partnership
Kostuch Media has also joined forces with Fisher Hospitality Group and Ryerson University to produce the new Canadian Restaurant Market Report, to be published digitally in spring 2011. This comprehensive report will take a detailed look at the operations side of the restaurant business focusing on statistical data to help benchmark a restaurant’s performance vis à vis industry standards. This new project will become a useful tool by providing operational data to industry members, assisting them to achieve better results through a more sophisticated understanding of the restaurant industry in Canada, by sectors.

Partnership
In late 2010, Kostuch Media Ltd. entered into a partnership with the Greenbelt Fund to develop a new initiative called the Produce and Protein Guide, to be published in the April edition of Foodservice and Hospitality magazine. The poster will be directed to the Ontario readership of the magazine. Additionally, the two companies will work together to promote the importance of local food marketing through a new column in F&H called Go Local, debuting in the April issue.
The Greenbelt Fund is helping to strengthen and grow the amount of Ontario food served in daycares, schools, universities and colleges, hospitals and long-term care facilities through its program, the Broader Public Sector Investment Fund: Promoting Ontario Food.
With funding from the Ontario Government, this program provides grants to local food industry leaders, producers, distributors, foodservice providers and public institutions working to serve more Ontario food. Helping to overcome challenges, support economic growth and the sustainability of agriculture in Ontario, the Fund will create systemic change that will permanently increase the amount of local food in the province’s public institutions.
